Secret of Success, Does It Lie Outside of You???

by karen on August 14, 2010

O.k. this may be a little bit of a rant, so it may be a little long, but I come across people who think the secret of success is something that lies outside of them. They are constantly searching for the missing key. If you are always looking for something to “make you become successful”, you will always be looking. Yes, there will be products and people along the way that help you succeed, but I always like the following saying: If it is to be, then it’s up to me.

When you come into something saying that you “will try it”, then you have already lost. You are coming into it thinking that something outside of you will create your success. You must have an attitude that YOU have what it takes and YOU will make it work, no matter what. You must not set time frames, like if this doesn’t work within this amount of time or if I don’t make any money in this amount of time, I will have to call it quits.

That’s an attitude of lack and that is what you will get more of, lack! I love this passage from “The One Minute Millionaire” by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen, which I have written down and refer to often:

I am committed to this no matter what and no matter how long it takes!!! Once you make this commitment, resources start to appear, time slows down or speeds up, people suddenly arrive as if summoned. How? You send out invisible signals. Some can be weak, but when you are really committed, these vibrations become strong and are picked up unconsciously by everyone you meet.

Now, it’s not only important to have a strong committment and desire, it is most important to learn how to focus your mind. What are you giving your attention to? Are you focusing on your intention or on your current reality? You do realize that your current reality is a sign of your past thoughts, feelings, and actions?

So how do you begin to change what you see in your world? You must first change your thinking. Many people believe they just have to work harder and longer and struggle along the way. Yes, you do need inspired action, but when you don’t have your mind focused in the right way, you will struggle unnecessarily and it will take you far longer.

Here are some tips on how to keep your mind focused on what you want to create:

1. Write down your affirmations -write it in the present tense, as clearly as possible. For example, if you are now focusing on the fact that everyone you talk to does not have money, write down an affirmation that signifies what you want: I easily and effortlessly attract ONLY business partners who have extra money to invest in their future and can see value in spending money to make money. Just switch around what your current reality is and make an affirmation that is what you do want.

Then you must read your affirmations out loud, with emotion, every day. Your subconscious mind will begin to pick this up as a belief and you will begin to see changes in your world. How long will it take? As long as it takes for your subconscious mind to pick it up. Be patient.

2. Visualize!!! I feel this is the most underutilized tool we possess and like writing affirmations, it’s also free! Just close your eyes and picture as clearly as you can, exactly how something will look when you achieve it. You must interject emotion in the visualization to have this picked up by your subconscious mind. Since the subconscious mind cannot distinguish between what’s real and what’s made up, the longer you do this, it will eventually be picked up as true and manifest. Jerry Clark did this exact thing and he became a millionaire in his 20′s, a great part due to visualization. Learn exactly how he did it in this post.

3. Guard your speech!!! Do not speak about things that you do not want to happen. Yes, these things are happening, but the more you talk about it, the more it is your belief. Only talk about things which are empowering and your successes and these experiences will begin to expand.

So, here are some practical tips for you to use. You will find, in time, the secret of success already lies inside of you!

Hey Karen,

you´re bringing the hidden elements to the table which I highly appreciate!

What you suggested us to do with affirmations is going to strengthen your beliefs and your intentions will become conscious. I´m doing affirmations every single day and trust me it´s worth every single minute you practise it!

Have a great weekend,

Gerald

Hey Karen,

You’ve brought up such a good point about success and this is something that so many people miss. They think that in order to be successful you need have a lot of money, cars, and big houses. I’ve come to realize that in order to be happy and feel successful that that doesn’t come from outside circumstances but as you said it comes from within.

In other words, you make the chose to feel good and feel happy in any area of your life.

Thanks so much for sharing this and I cannot wait to see what else you are going to share :)

See you at the top,
Michael Stead

Hi Micheal,

I totally agree with you. I think sometimes we can get caught up in the “things” and status, and forget that happiness only comes from inside and from having
inner peace. I remember reading “Happy for No Reason” by Marci Shimoff and she said she had all this money and recognition, but still felt so empty inside.

I think when you can learn to have this inner happiness she talks about in her book, you have the ultimate freedom because your happiness is not dependent
on outside circumstances.

Thanks for bringing up this great point. I appreciate you!

Blessings,

Karen

Hey Karen,

Great post, the 3 tips you covered to keep focused on what we want to create have a huge impact on our results if used correctly.

Going back to what you said at the top of the post about people who say they will try – try is just a front end excuse. Making a firm decision (ask) is the key to creation!

I’ll be sharing this on FB, it’s an awesome article! Thank you Karen!

Everett,s

You are so kind. I appreciate you!!! You are right, our thoughts are the basis of all of our actions. So, we should guard
them and only allow ones which empower us. Does it take work? Yes, but it’s well worth it because of the results you will get.

In gratitude,

Karen

Hi Karen,
I resonated with your post right off the bat. There is no doubt that “if it’s to be it’s up to me”. I agree with you that so many people search outside themselves for the answers to their life’s problems. Sure, there may be somethings in the outside world that affect what’s going on in your life but the real answer and the real solutions always come from within.

Thanks for sharing your message.

Hey Don,

Thanks for stopping by!!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Yes, I agree that the answers
always come from within and when we learn to develop our own inner knowing and intuition, you can
rely on your own guidance.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!!!

Blessings,

Karen
