I have studied personal development and the subconscious mind for years now. To me, it is not only absolutely fascinating, but essential in learning to achieve your highest potential. I am amazed at how I can hear something I have heard somewhere else, but when it is put in a step by step process, it makes all the difference in the world.

A book I highly, highly recommend is “The Answer-Grow Any Business, Achieve Financial Freedom, and Live an Extraordinary Life” by John Assaraf (featured in “The Secret”) and Murray Smith.

One of the many powerful techniques mentioned in this book is the concept of neural reconditioning.

So what is neural reconditioning? Neural reconditioning is used to reprogram your mind at the subconscious level, the same way you have created your current beliefs. Now you are using it to create new beliefs. You are training your reticular activation system to focus on what you want at a subconscious level. And we know by something so powerful as the placebo effect that when you strongly believe something will happen, even though there is no logical explanation for it to happen, it does. Now, the question is, how do you program your mind so that with absolute certainty, you WILL accomplish anything you set out to do?

Here is the neural reconditioning program, as outlined in “The Answer” in this order:

1) Meditation
-trains your brain to focus. Sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes and focus on your breath as it enters your nose, at the bottom of your nostrils. If your mind wanders, don’t worry, just bring your attention back to your breathing. This connects you to Infinite Intelligence and the world of infinite possibilities. Do this for 6-7 minutes.

2) Visualize what you want. John Assaraf says he visualizes visiting his banker and she comments on how well his business is doing. He’s wearing the clothes he loves and wants, he’s driving the car he loves, and eating the food he wants, having the health he wants, in the relationship he wants, living the life he wants; he sees it as a movie with lots of EMOTION.

3) Read through the powerful affirmations you have already written for yourself. If you need some ideas of what to write, I personally use afformations; you can make these empowering questions into statements.

Now, since your mind might try to reject these statements as false, it’s important to condition your mind to accept your new beliefs. You do this by closing your eyes and remembering an event where you felt great accomplishment or triumph. When you are really feeling this emotion, then say your affirmations, really feeling the truth of them. This actually links the stored emotion for that accomplishment with what you want, so both are strongly linked together in your brain as something you have done to be very successful (even though one has not happened yet, but association, it already has).

It is recommended you start with 10 minutes to do the above and then after 2 weeks, extend it to 15 minutes and after another 2 weeks, extend it to 30 minutes. Even if you can’t extend the time, the most important thing is that you stay consistent every day. John Assaraf says in the book that after 30 days, you will see phenomenal results.

I would love to hear your comments below on taking this 30 day challenge and the results you achieve. And if you would share this information with others, I would appreciate it! Stay inspired!!!
