Are you someone who has yet to see internet marketing success?
Success, of course, is defined differently for everyone. But to most people it means making a lot of money and having the lifestyle you want to live. I believe peoples’ stories on the internet illude to the fact that their success was literally overnight. Which is rarely the case. Our society wants a quick fix for everything and instant gratification. So, when we hear stories about someone making money literally overnight, we are drawn to it in hopes we can do the same.
Internet Marketing Success
This is the way I see it. Stop comparing yourself to anyone else! Yes, there will be some people who have internet marketing success in a short period of time. But most people will have a pretty steep learning curve, especially if you are entirely new to internet marketing. Let’s look at it like you have decided to change your career and go back to school and let’s say get another degree and job. You would expect to be in school around 4 years and then graduate and get a job.
That’s what I did, went to college, graduated, and then got a job as a physical therapist. Well, actually it took 6 1/2 years since I got my Master’s. Now I certainly wouldn’t have gotten frustrated after a few weeks or months and say this doesn’t work. Of course not! I studied hard and knew that I would eventually graduate. O.k. the cadaver class…..that was something I hadn’t bargained for! But I absolutely did what it took to succeed and surprisingly enough I graduated with a 4.0. Anyway, my point is that I knew it was going to take this long and it was worth it. I have been practicing for over 20 years (I always wonder why they call it “practicing” as if you don’t know what you’re doing yet!) and make over 6 figures a year. Was it worth putting in the time? Absolutely!
So, I look at my internet marketing success the same way, over the course of years.
Have I had some success? Yes, I have. Am I where I want to be? Not yet, but I certainly will get there. I have only been online for 2 years and that’s very part-time (I work 6 days a week, am married, have 2 kids and a life too). I do have the perserverance and work ethic to continue “until.” When you have an attitude that you will arrive at your goals, no matter what and no matter how long it takes, you most certainly will succeed.
On your journey to internet marketing success, focus on your successes. Write then down and post them on a board, no matter how small. By focusing on your successes and taking inspired action, you will continue to get larger successes. Most people focus on what they don’t have and that’s exactly what they will get more of, not enough of something. Remember, what you focus on expands. I see too many people quit far too early, but then again, maybe they weren’t cut out to be an entrepreneur, only an employee.
A friend of mine told me how much he has spent online (as an aside, being cheap will keep you broke; it takes money for an education – I paid over $10,000/year for mine and that was over 20 years ago!) and he “hasn’t made a dime.” Guess what? The more he believes, affirms, and speaks about not making a dime online, that’s exactly what he will get over and over again. Learn to focus more on where you’re going rather than where you’re at, be grateful for what you have and for crying out loud, enjoy the journey!!!

It’s a good thing to use this internet marketing because it helps a lot in some of our businesses online. Wish I can use this internet marketing in some of my online businesses.
