As thought leaders and spiritual teachers, pastors take their content and cash in on selling eBooks online. Writing eBooks can be a great way to expand a ministry while increasing revenue for the church.
A big part of ministry is creating content in the form of sermons and Bible study lessons. Content that helps church members enhance their lives and spiritual connection. For many pastors, especially those who head smaller congregations, there is a great need to find side jobs that can help them support their family.
One great opportunity church pastors have to create additional cash flow is creating and selling eBooks online.
For any church leader hat longs to become an author, but is uncertain about traditional publishing, an eBook is an inexpensive way to package their content and share their value with others. It’s quick, easy, cheap to produce, and potentially more profitable. As far as publishing goes, it’s not complicated at all. Really, anyone can do it.
However, while creating an eBook is not particularly complicated, writing and publishing an eBook does take work. Finding people to buy your eBook is not necessarily as easy as it sounds. But, because pastors and church leaders are already connected to their target audience and thought of as educators, driving eBook sales is much easier.
So, if you already have a presence and/or some great community connections, go for it. If, however, you are relatively new to selling information products online and are not sure how you will market your eBook, you may want to devote some time to mapping out a marketing game plan while you write your eBook on the side. You’ll be glad you did.
So what makes a good eBook topic?
As with everything else, it is important to offer value. How can you help others? To what problems or challenges can you offer solutions?
There are thousands of great topics just waiting to be written about. Why not compile a collection of your best sermons into an eBook, or share daily devotionals to live by. Perhaps you have personal stories and life lessons you’ve learned in your journey as a pastor. Just think about how you can help others grow in their faith.
Use your unique skills, knowledge and experience to offer great value to those who need it the most. Once you understand how to write an eBook and promote it in the marketplace, you can capitalize on all of the great lessons you have taught as a leader in your community.
Not only will you be expanding your message and helping others live better lives, you will be increasing your revenue by selling eBooks online.

Great idea! All money-making e-books start with an idea. This is a part I cannot effectively describe in words. It has to do with personal reflection. A personal brainstorming, which can be as a result of a newspaper headline, a speech, an article, a personal need, an experience, a problem that needs to be solved, a tragedy, a dream, a vision.
