How To Become A Social Media Manager

You want to learn how to become a social media manager?

This is the most in demand job in the world right now. Why? Well, it’s actually a new job title that was not around a few years ago. According to Inc. magazine, 91% of all businesses are attempting to use social media to promote themselves in 2010.

Why are businesses using social media? Because the outdated methods of advertising are simply not working any more. So businesses are moving their advertising budgets to social media and social media managers. Is it working? Yes, a survey says that 85% of businesses surveyed said social media created a positive return on investment and a buzz for their business.

Most business owners don’t understand how social media works or how to use it to effectively grow their business. More importantly, they don’t have the time to do it. So, that’s where social media managers have come on the scene. Experts are estimating the demand for social media managers may be as high as 10,000 to 1. That sounds like pretty good odds, right?

The great part about learning how to become a social media manager is that it takes less time than you think.

A person can become trained in a weekend and you need no prior formal training. Better yet, you can do this from the comfort of your own home and be your own boss. Most of it could actually be done from your cell phone, so you can be out doing other things while you are making money.

So, how much can you make being a social media manager? The median rate right now is around $38,027 a year. Not bad in this economy. Businesses would gladly pay $500-$1000 per month for you to keep them from being killed by the competition. You would only need a few clients to make a full time income.

You could start part-time and not have to quit your day job to make some extra money or acquire more clients and eventually work full time. In this video I’m going to share with you, Kate Buck shows you how she is making $10,000 a month part time from home (85% of it from her cell phone) so she can still have time to spend with her kids. She will shorten your learning curve and help you avoid making the mistakes she first made when she started out.

As you know, in business, it’s all about timing. Now is the time to become a social media manager and cash in on this new wave of business. Right now, while the supply is still much less than the demand, you can make some good money in this job. All you need is an internet connection and the proper training.

Hi Karen,

My name is Todd. I am looking to see if you are trying this social media manager out? Are you having a lot of success? I guess I’m kind of looking for a mentor

karen August 27, 2010 at 12:34 pm

Hi Todd,

Yes, I have purchased the training. I have not yet implemented it as I plan to outsource most it not all of the work. As far as a mentor, Kate Buck would be your best mentor since she has learned
how to build a great business doing this. When you purchase her training here, you will get access to live Q & A webinars, (as well as recorded), and step by step training. You will be able to learn
directly from her and she is a great mentor.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Blessings,

Karen

Hi Joe,

You are certainly welcome. Yes, I think this may be the answer for many people because it definitely is something businesses need right now. I can see where even if a person didn’t want to do the work
themselves, it could be outsourced and you could still make a good profit. Keep in touch and let me know how things work out for you.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay inspired!

Sami July 2, 2011 at 4:20 pm

Hey Karen,
Is this really very lucrative? What happens if you don’t have the money to start the training? Are there any ways around that? I want to reccomend this program to a friend but neither I nor he has the money for the training. What should we do?

karen July 3, 2011 at 6:24 pm

Sami,

Yes, you can make good money being a social media manager. I would advise thinking of ways to get the money. As you know if you have been reading my blog, I am a firm believer that if you have a goal and a specific dollar amount you want to manifest, your mind will come up with ways to get it.

In the meantime, do all you can to learn about social media for free so you can be very knowledgeable on how to market on facebook, twitter, and other sites. You can put a search here on my blog and find some free trainings. Just continue to educate yourself.

Stay inspired!

Do you think that contacting the small businesses via direct mail will help better than searching the job boards? Any tips on finding clients who have been in search of social media managers?

Thanks a million
